Nothing to See Here

Hello. So this is my blog, it's a bit of a mess right now (right now being whenever you read this, because it will probably always be a mess. I am a mess).

Doctor who

I hyped this episode so much. Like so much. I mean, did you see the girl who waited? Did you see how well executed every single scene of the silence have been throughout the season? How touching some of it was. How cool it seemed River’s story was going to go. I was expecting a crazy plot twist like the end of last season. (and i guess i got it with the alternate universe thing, but that’s not really what i meant.) So here’s my rant, full of both praise and unpopular opinions.

For the record I didn’t hate it. this post just makes it look like I did. I’m honestly not sure how i feel I’m so conflicted.

As much as I like river song (I really do), I do not like this marriage. The thing with their relationship that always made it okay was the freeing ambiguity and that it wasn’t going anywhere. But now he’s married? The doctor is not really supposed to be like that. It just feels wrong. Wrong wrong wrong. Plus the doctors been around long enough that no one writer should be able to claim the spot of his wife. It just feels wrong.

But at the same time I understand. We all would have been pissed if their was no end to their story. And this is an end that technically doesn’t actually involve commitment** but still leaves river’s story fulfilled.

**He is going away, for them to forget him. And it was an alternate time line. So maybe no one will count the marriage.

Also not a fan of the question being “doctor who?” really?

Now that I sound like I hated the whole thing, I actually almost liked it. Not as much as the others of this season, or last season, or well… It’s not my least favorite ever, we’ll just say that.

Amy and Rory were brilliant. I love that Amy let that crazy bitch die. You go, girl.

The idea of all of time and space stopped with everything was executed well. Fucking pterodactylls and cars with hot air balloons, bitch.

And I found the live chess way more amusing than I should have.

Also, how did no one think of the tessalator?!?!? Some suspected flesh but no one saw the tessalator coming!!! Well done. Me=moffucked.

QUESTION: In the no-time-universe, how was the doctor at the pyramid AND with Churchill narrating? Were there two stopped time places? Or was time just so fucked that it doesn’t matter?

Overall, the episode wasn’t bad if you take out the River parts (which was all of it really). Also, “the fall of eleven” hmm…
